Assertiveness
We can learn to be more assertive by identifying our needs and wants, expressing them in a positive way, and learning to say "no" when we need to. We can also use assertive communication techniques to help us communicate our thoughts and feelings firmly and directly. To be assertive, we also need to have a sense of empathy, mostly considering that assertiveness is significantly correlated to our ability to read other peoples emotions and consider them when assessing what’s the best way to respond to any given situation, in a way that, not only we don’t put other people down, but we empower them, instead.
