Question 2

What happens in the first couples therapy session?

Accepted Answer

Your initial consultation is a 45-minute face-to-face session where we explore your situation in detail. You will receive relevant assessment forms and insights on your case, along with a report including a mind map and timeline of how the therapy process would work and the topics to be addressed.

Question 3

What is the difference between couples counselling and couples therapy?

Couples counselling typically focuses on specific issues and improving communication skills in the short term. Couples therapy (psychotherapy) goes deeper, exploring the root causes of relationship challenges, attachment patterns, and emotional dynamics to create lasting change.

Question 4

Do you offer online couples therapy?

Accepted Answer

Yes, MYNDPOWER offers sessions both via Zoom and in-person at our Milton Keynes location. This makes therapy accessible whether you are local to Milton Keynes or prefer the convenience of online sessions from Bedford, Luton, Northampton, Aylesbury, or anywhere in the UK.

Question 5

How many couples therapy sessions will we need?

Accepted Answer

The number of sessions depends on your specific situation and goals as a couple. Some couples benefit from a short-term focused programme of 4-8 sessions, while others may need longer-term support. This is discussed during your initial consultation where a personalised plan is created.
